That [pause] could not have been merely a dream. I refuse to believe it was--that all those people, and that city, were just a part of something I dreamed up.

My true name--or part of it at least, it seems [pause] somewhat incomplete--is Romana. [Pause, pen taps] I will still answer to 'Fred,' if people feel more comfortable calling me by that name.

I see Juliet is alright. Innovator, are you also [pen taps] well?

Oh joy. [Pause] Though I suppose I've earned that one.

I am rather hoping Edensphere will give me a vacation of sorts after all that, but given my track record I am hardly counting on it.

So, this dream... thing that you had. In the city with the less than hospitable soldiers. What was that like aside from 'not pleasant'?

I think the blame lies with Bell for that, for giving him the idea.

The people there were [pause] friendly, at least the ones who had come through the Gate. It was a great deal like Edensphere in that respect; people had been pulled from their home worlds without a by-your-leave, and stuck in Veles. However, they all retained their memories.

[Pause]

Storm was there.

Can't remember if they've talked about Storm so, if they haven't, I'll say it was mentioned at work?

Ha, that doesn't surprise me. Though, I doubt Genius knows the... complex rope-work that Bell's might have in mind.

...Huh. Now that's interesting to know. I'm not sure if it's comforting or worrying that there might be more circumstances like ours out there. Any word on how this 'Gate' functioned?

No, unfortunately. [Pen taps] There were some quite interesting theories, but it seemed no one was even sure whether the Gate was magical or technological in origin. [A few more pen taps; she isn't sure how to feel about that.] But it was guarded, no one was allowed to go near it.

I hope not. Storm retained his true memories, in any case... and no memory of Edensphere.

I am not entirely sure Genius would willingly read anything Bell gave him, after the whole Lotus thing.

Interestingly enough, there seemed to be a [pen taps] division between the people who came through the Gate, and the ones originally living in the town. The Gate guardians, unsurprisingly enough, where comprised of the original population.

Sounds like a bit of a conspiracy and the natives know more than they're letting on.
