{Three (31)} &diams It hurts to be alone / In the cell I call my home
Despite the current [pen taps] difficulties with the journals, I feel I must ask. Does anyone know where Pinky might be? This would be the third night she has not come home; it seems unlike her to not leave a note at least. [Pause, a few pen taps] I have not seen Stigmata in some time either. Any information about the whereabouts of either one would be appreciated.
[Another pause, and just when it seems she isn't going to write anymore:]
Gene. I should like to speak to you, in person, at your earliest convenience.
-Fred
[ooc: Fred is unaffected, so everyone should be able to read this. Whether she can read your reply is another matter entirely...]

Re: QUICKLOG
[But Aurora was anything but open about the Gundams with outsiders, or even possible insiders, so Gene was at a loss to figure out how she'd come by the name until he started reading what she had written.
Though he didn't recognize the descriptions of the mobile suits involved, it seemed like the standard sort of skirmish. ...Right up until that bit about linking to the machine's computer with the mind. That caused Gene's brows to draw together in puzzlement and read over the information a second time. He couldn't remember hearing of such a thing. He flipped the piece of paper over and the pieces started to come together. That's why Aurora was the catalyst to this conversation. And perhaps that was why such a strange set-up was mentioned. Maybe Aurora had some sort of hidden ability to communicate with machinery?]
Huh. I didn't know you could actually receive somebody else's memory as well as their dream. Aurora seemed protective of information regarding the Gundams in general but this--yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a regular fit when it was discovered you had it. The abilities here seem... unique, for lack of a better word.
[Aurora would also likely have been galled to know that Gene now knew all this, and not without reason since Gene was now aware that Gundams could be pitted against each other. It was strange, but he'd been of a mind that they were always allied.
Still it wasn't as if there were many more options to pass on the information. Most of the comrades he had known, and Aurora himself, had either disappeared, or reappeared amnesiac with considerably less context to work with. It was a depressing thought. Gene waved the paper slightly to emphasize his next statement.]
Mind if I ask how you came across another person's memory? ...And why it's mentioned that he has one heart? I thought that bit of physiology was rather standard.
[Maybe it was an abbreviation or code of some sort, he thought to himself.]
Re: QUICKLOG
[Fred would hate to see him or anyone else killed, or be killed again herself, if Aurora did come back after all this and discovered she had broken her word. She still didn't quite understand why he had been so very upset and insistent she tell no one, other than the fact it was his memory; he had not been good enough to explain the reasoning behind his actions.
But... with Aurora gone, and many of the other people who had commented on that particular entry... Fred had watched them vanishing one by one. Nobody, Gundam... Raise and Aurora had come back, but with different names, as newborns. It scared her sometimes, when she stopped to think about it, how many people just... vanished from the Tree without a word. She had started to worry about being the only one with this information. Didn't everyone want to know about their pasts? Even information like this. Especially information like this.
Fred pulled herself out of her musing to answer his last question. She felt some apprehension, and a twinge of annoyance at herself; both probably showed on her face. She had just about forgotten she had put that in the notes, and hadn't bothered to proof-read them before Gene came over. Still... Bell, Youth, Derrick, and Genius knew, and she had known Gene longer than any of them. She didn't really mind.]
Mmm, for most in Edensphere, perhaps. But I'm sure you have noticed the odd person who looked a bit different? Perhaps they looked like a cat, or had horns, or a tail. A bit off, a bit non-Human.
I, on the other hand, look perfectly Human. But I am not Human at all. I have two hearts, to start with.
Re: QUICKLOG
[Well, careful with things like this, anyway. In any case, Gene felt he now had a pretty good idea of who counted as decent confidants for this sort of information. The picture he'd seen in the dream last night... not everyone looked 'happy' but there seemed to be a sense of camaraderie in the group. He wouldn't surprised if all those present were a safe bet to tell if necessary, but really, he wasn't in any hurry to spread Aurora's secrets.]
[Gene blinked when Fred shared that she wasn't human.] Huh... I never would have guessed. [He scratched his head, and found himself idly wondering how exactly that worked and if the doubled hearts was the only physiological difference.]
You know, I think I might know a few that look human that aren't. Or just. Are capable of far more than I would have guessed a human could do. [Like Bastet, who was capable of walking on air. And then, of course, there was Stardust's double with the glowing eyes who made it very clear that she considered herself separate from humans.] So I guess it's not that out of the ordinary? Though, if you're not human, do you have a word for what you are?
Re: QUICKLOG
[Her smile widened a bit into a grin.] I don't think anyone does. Genius was quite shocked to discover it... it was rather amusing, really.
[She nodded again as he continued.] I know I am not the only non-Human, though I am nearly positive I am the only one of my kind here. The name of my home planet is 'Gallifrey', so that would make me a 'Gallifreyan'... I suppose. [As always when she said it, the word was right but it was wrong. Or maybe she was just used to a different descriptive word for herself... hard to say. But this was the only thing she had, and she was rather grateful she at least had that much.]
Re: QUICKLOG--"Gallifrey... isn't that in Ireland?"
[And the laughter subsided into subdued chuckles when she told of Genius's reaction.] You know, that doesn't surprise me at all. Was there flailing? He strikes me as a flailer.
[Head tilt.] Gallifrey, huh? Pretty name. Do you have any recollection of what it's like?
Re: QUICKLOG--We didn't log the reaction, so I'll just make some stuff up, doo doo doo~
[She grinned again at his guess about Genius.] Yes, there was. I thought he was going to start taking blood samples for a moment or two, which would not have been nearly as amusing.
[Fred's smile softened a little, into something that could perhaps be described as 'nostalgic.' Everyone she had told about her planet had asked what it was like--Roswell, Rabbit, and now Gene.] Yes, I was fortunate enough to have seen it in my first birth dream.
[She paused for a moment. Talking about it always made her a little sad, in a way she couldn't quite put her finger on... it wasn't quite homesickness. Was it?] The sky is burnt orange in color, and the clouds are golden. The grass is a deep red, almost the color of blood. In my dream I was running across a plain of red grass toward a stand of trees with silver leaves. Kaden-wood trees; they make a beautiful music when the wind blows through their branches. There are two suns... [Her voice trailed off and she blinked a few times before coughing lightly and actually looking at Gene again.] I don't remember much more about it, I'm afraid.
Re: QUICKLOG--Works for me!
Glad to hear Genius didn't cross the line into too enthusiastic. Besides, you've been at medical before, right? I wouldn't be surprised if they took care of all those little details already.
[Gene propped his chin on one hand as he listened to Fred describe her home world. It was one thing to hear someone say they were from another planet. It was another thing entirely to hear about the differences in detail. It brought home the actual idea of alien worlds and made it stand out as something unusual and fascinating, rather than just letting the fact meld into the mass of strangeness that was every day life in the Sphere.]
It's a little hard to fathom that a place can look so different, but it sounds beautiful. I'll bet you miss it. [He hadn't missed the coughing and the blinking. If anything, it looked like she was getting choked up just talking about it.]
Re: QUICKLOG
[She was tempted to look away at his words, but that was just a little too cliche. So instead she copied his posture, resting her chin in her hand.] It is, what I can remember of it. Earth is beautiful, certainly, but... it isn't the same. [It didn't help that everything about Edensphere, from the grass to the sky to the huge oak tree they lived in, reminded her that this environment was modeled after the Human's planet. It patiently wasn't Earth, with the overlarge animals and insects, but it seemed to be geared toward making Humans feel more comfortable in it than other species.]
Re: QUICKLOG
[Gene sat back slightly, resting his hands on his knees.] But it isn't home--[He blinked then, as the implications of what she said dawned on him.] Does that mean you've visited Earth? Or do you just know what it looks like from other sources?
Re: QUICKLOG
[Fred looked up slightly, following his movement, but stayed as she was for the moment.] I've been to Paris, according to one of my memories. [She frowned slightly, sitting back now and putting her hands in her lap.] The Mona Lisa is a famous Earth painting, isn't it?
[Of course, that wasn't a real answer either... she had been to Paris, yes, but she had seen neither the sky nor the grass. Yet she was positive that oak trees--even very large ones--were a definite sign of being on Earth, and no idea why she was so confident of such a strange thing.]
Re: QUICKLOG
Possibly the most famous Earth painting. Sounds like you really took a moment to take in the sights when you came. [He shook his head, somewhat flabbergasted at the idea.] Kind of crazy to think that it's true: people from outerspace have been visiting all along and there'd be little way for us on Earth to know, if you look just like we do. Though, I imagine some sort of sensor would pick up the ship you used to get there.
[Gene tapped at his chin, trying to figure out the logistics of how this would have had to play out. True, there wasn't nearly enough info to paint an accurate picture, but it was too interesting a scenario not to mull over.]
