I think they do not care how correct or otherwise their statements are; they appear to be doing it to get a rise out of whomever they are tormenting.

I prefer to meet people in person, yes; introducing yourself to a set of handwriting seems a bit [pen taps] impersonal. However, it is the most efficient way to do things here; an unfortunate fact, but a fact nonetheless.
